Webinar: Efficient deep foundation modeling and analysis with PLAXIS 3D

Online

  • 17th July 2020
    9:00 am - 10:00 am

Date: Friday, July 17, 2020

Time: 09:00 AM (BST)

Duration: 1 hour

Summary

Built at the financial capital of Europe, it was the continent’s tallest high-rise. At 256 m. it rests on a combination of mat and bored pile foundation bearing in soft soil deposit. And engineers needed to address the soft and irregular soil characteristics to minimize the titling of the tower as a result of the uneven settlement of the foundation system.

Join Richard Witasse in this webinar to see this story of great geotechnical engineering and learn how to deploy PLAXIS 3D and its latest features for the analysis of compensated pile raft:

  1. Full model construction
  2. Mesh optimization with swept meshing
  3. Dewatering and excavation
  4. Structural forces in pile elements

**The webcast will be streamed through your computer, so there is no dial-in number.  Please make sure your computer speakers (or headset) are turned on and the volume is set to an audible level so you can hear the presenters.

Richard Witasse
Principal Product Manager, Geotechnical
Bentley Systems, Inc.

Recognized as an expert in geotechnical analysis and engineering, Richard Witasse has more than 15 years of experience in working with geotechnical digital tools and geotechnical finite element analysis software. After starting his career as a software engineer in the field of finite element analysis software for reinforced concretes structures, Richard became an application engineer and worked for the global leaders in geotechnical analysis software. Richard joined PLAXIS in 2008 and has always worked since the non geotechnical consulting, customer success and training for the many users of the most popular digital solutions for geotechnical engineering and analysis. Since 2018 Richard Witasse is Principal Product Manager with Bentley Systems.
