Reliability, Availability, Maintainability & Safety (RAMS)

RAMS Analysis focuses on the availability and safety performance of systems subjected to failure modes. By applying effective reliability techniques, together with dedicated software, we can help you make informed decisions regarding risk, efficiency, repair & maintenance during FEED or when addressing limitations of existing or expanding operations.

Integrated RAMS Solutions Providing Software, Consulting and Training

As both a consultant and channel partner for ReliaSoft, our safety and reliability team is able to supply integrated RAMS solutions, comprising software, consulting and training.

We are highly experienced with techniques such as FMEA/FMECA, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Reliability Block Diagrams (RBDs) and Common Cause Failure analysis. We can identify critical components and their reliability importance measures while determining optimum preventive maintenance intervals and spare parts provisions. System availability analysis enables us calculate uptime and downtime while throughput calculations identify bottleneck and estimate production capacity.

We often commence a project with a RAMS methodology review or Reliability Gap Analysis. If the conclusion is that  in-house capabilities require improvement, we can supply the ReliaSoft RAM suite of software tools with mentoring and training. To help acquire and manage reliability, quality, safety and risk management data from multiple locations, we have implemented ReliaSoft-based FRACAS / DRACAS web-based systems within client sites that integrate seamlessly with their RAMS tools.

Alternatively, our consulting operations are available to support our clients with relevant technical expertise and capacity. Our services include on-site secondments of experienced RAMS engineers.

Example Projects

  • Commercial and domestic boilers and heat exchangers

  • Imaging radiometer for earth observation satellite

  • LED based rail signalling system

  • Airbus aircraft control systems and maintenance components

  • Train derailer safety system for Crossrail

  • Nuclear decommissioning (TRAM)

Fantastic support - I have contacted a few times and have always had the problem solved. Professional, friendly and reliable service! The engineer I dealt with has been of great help!

RCM Services Backed by Industry-Leading Software

Within our RAMS capabilities, Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) analysis provides a structured framework to analyse the functions and potential failures of assets (from an airplane to a manufacturing production line) with a focus on preserving system functions rather than equipment. RCM can help develop scheduled maintenance plans cost-effectively that will provide an acceptable level of operability with an acceptable level of risk.

Incorporating full FMEA/FMECA capabilities, ReliaSoft RCM++ software offers a comprehensive platform for developing maintenance strategy, including support for ATA iSpec 2200 for commercial aircraft, SAE-JA 1011/1012 and ISO 55000 standard for asset management.
