Full 3D CFD with Ansys enables the investigation of fluid behaviour in valves, compressors, pumps and other typical industrial equipment components with greater detail. We have significant experience in rotating flows, cavitation issues & pressure-flow characterisation and can couple with structural models to model fluid-structural interaction (FSI).
This includes sealing design and assessment, including prediction of temperatures that may degrade performance.
Our process modelling capabilities are employed when the equipment is being designed to undertake a manufacturing operation or includes high integrity forged or extruded parts. Through kinematic and forming simulations, we can help ensure the mechanical design operates as intended while safety critical components have been produced without defects.
