ReliaSoft RCM++

ReliaSoft’s RCM++ facilitates data management and reporting for Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) analysis – an important aspect of an effective asset management programme. The software provides support for the major industry RCM standards (such as ATA MSG-3, SAE JA1011, and SAE JA1012) and enables extensive customisation to fit your particular RCM analysis approach. Full-featured FMEA / FMECA functionality is also included.

Overview

Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) techniques and ReliaSoft’s RCM++ software can benefit your organisation’s asset management program in many ways, including the ability to:

  • Develop a scheduled maintenance plan for a physical asset that will provide an acceptable level of functionality, with an acceptable level of risk, in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Evaluate whether preventive maintenance (PM) is appropriate and determine the optimum preventive maintenance intervals.
  • Promote analysis processes that are more efficient and more effective, utilizing lessons learned from past analyses when applicable.

RCM++ provides a flexible and intuitive interface for defining your system configuration and recording the functional failure analysis. The software tool includes configurable equipment selection, failure effect categorisation and maintenance task selection capabilities. RCM++ also provides simulation-based calculations that can be used to compare the costs of potential maintenance strategies and a calculator to estimate the optimum maintenance interval for preventive repairs/replacements.

Two licensing options are available:

  • RCM++ Standard license allows you to store data in individual Microsoft Access® databases (which may be appropriate for individuals or small departments).
  • RCM++ Enterprise license also enables you to store data in a centralized SQL Server® or Oracle® database (which may be preferred by large departments and organizations).

User Interface

Support for Major Industry Standards

The software supports all of the major industry standards for RCM and FMEA, such as MSG-3, SAE JA1011, SAE JA1012, SAE J1739, AIAG FMEA-3 or FMEA-4 and MIL-STD-1629A. It also provides extensive capabilities to customize the interface and reports to meet specific needs.

In order to focus resources where they can provide the greatest benefit, RCM++ supports two configurable methods for selecting the equipment that will be analyzed with RCM techniques: Selection Questions (yes/no) and Criticality Factors (rating scales).

Failure Effect Categorisation and Maintenance Task Selection Logic Charts

RCM++ supports the Failure Effect Categorization (FEC) and Maintenance Task Selection logic charts in the major industry RCM standards and also provides the ability to customize the questions and categories to meet specific application needs. Analysts can use these logic charts to categorize the effects of failure and then to select the maintenance tasks that will be applicable and effective.

Optimum Maintenance Interval and Operational Cost Comparisons

RCM++ goes beyond calculations based on MTBFs and the often-inappropriate assumption of an exponential failure distribution. Analysts can use the Weibull, exponential, normal, lognormal or mixed Weibull distributions to describe the equipment’s failure behavior and then use the same powerful calculation and simulation engines that are available in ReliaSoft’s BlockSim software to estimate the optimum maintenance interval and to compare the operational costs of various maintenance strategies.

Reports, Charts and Queries

RCM++ provides a complete set of print-ready reports for your analysis, which can be generated directly in Microsoft Word® or Excel®. The software also provides a variety of Pareto (bar), pie and matrix charts to demonstrate the analysis information graphically; as well as a flexible query utility.

Integration with Other ReliaSoft Products

  • Xfmea
  • Weibull++
  • ALTA
  • BlockSim

Full integration with ReliaSoft’s Xfmea software enables RCM++ to provide a complete set of FMEA/FMECA capabilities that can be used independently or integrated with the RCM analysis. This includes Risk Priority Numbers (RPNs) or Criticality Analysis, recommended action tracking, and much more. Data Management: RCM++ allows multiple users to work cooperatively on the analysis and provides numerous ways to leverage the lessons learned from previous analyses, including copy/paste and import/export.

ReliaSoft FMEA Accelerator

Using FMEA templates can help to accelerate the analysis process and improve the quality of your FMEAs and RCM projects. FMEA Accelerator(r) is your key to accessing an outstanding collection of FMEA templates for a wide variety of components. The tool makes it easy to search for and import selec...
