University and Research

From when the company was originally formed in 1980 with colleagues from University of Swansea, we have always had a close relationship with academic and research organisations. In addition to supplying all our software products to universities, we have been involved in joint research projects and provide training and guest lecturing services.

Academic pricing and specific product bundles are available for all our software solutions, including detailed training materials. In addition to standard support contracts that we provide with the software, we also offer enhanced call-off services through our in-house technical team. Our multiphysics and advanced manufacturing simulation products are popular with research teams both in the UK and mainland Europe, including Catapults. For example, we are a 2nd tier partner of the Advanced Forming Research Centre, closely linked to the University of Strathclyde, and also enjoy a long term relationship with Offshore Renewable Energy (formerly Narec). As reliability engineering is increasingly integrated within undergraduate and masters-level curriculum, we can support universities with the industry-leading ReliaSoft toolkit that is ideal for workshops and projects. We are always interested  in partnering with universities to undertake research. We have experience with both TSB (now Innovate UK) and European funded projects.

I would recommend this training session to all personnel who have interests in soil mechanics or foundation engineering areas.

University of Salford (Civil Eng)

It demystified FEA. I have more confidence in approaching problems and also numerical analysis of geotechnical problems.

University of Southampton

... certainly impressed with ReliaSoft products, having had chance to use Weibull++ for themselves, and shared in the analysis of their paper-clip exercise on ALTA PRO. BlockSim just did everything that they would expect.

University of Warwick

DEFORM has impressive capabilities and applications; the course is extremely useful!….Within three days you will have the ability to work on real applications.

Manufacturing Technology Centre

An educational tool ANSYS is and will be an excellent teaching tool for all engineering disciplines. Looking at my own industrial background I would personally recommend all engineering companies I have worked with, and for, to invest in this software and the training packages.

Wigan and Leigh College

…allowed application of analysis immediately….provided an excellent & very commendable service.

Science & Technology Funding Council

…especially appreciate the time to look at my specific examples & advised me with the right solutions.

University of Hull

Great support all round. Problem was resolved within 2 hours from the first email from a support technician. Time stated includes the time it took me to re-work my installation script to test the solution provided.

University of Brighton

New and intermediate level users will find this extremely useful to cope with more advanced models and the current expectations in the field of FE modelling of manufacturing operations.

University of Strathclyde (AFRC)

A highly informative meeting, showcasing the new developments in software capability... It was the first UGM for me and I really enjoyed it. It is good to see how much support you can get from SFTC... This meeting provided me with a useful update on the new features in DEFORM.

University of Birmingham (PRISM2)

The course was extremely informative & an ideal introduction to the DEFORM Machining Simulation. … Great people, well planned course, informative materials, excellent refreshment, so thank you very much.

University of Northumbria
