Weld lines and air traps are common cosmetic and mechanical defects that occur on plastic injection moulding parts. Weld lines usually occur when two flow fronts meet and result in a flow line or knit line. Air traps occur in areas that are improperly filled and lack required vents, causing bubbles or voids in the injection moulded parts.
In this webinar, we will demonstrate how Moldex3D simulation solutions can be used to optimse the filling pattern, the venting location and processing conditions, to better tackle weld lines and air traps, ensuring high-quality surface finish.
