Many systems rely on (or at least in someway affected by) convective heat transfer and engineers have potential to gain a significant advantage by using Fluent to predict and understand how these systems will behave. Some applications that may benefit from analysis include, among others: cooling devices, flow through pipework, exchangers, HVAC, built environment and reaction chambers.
The extensive range of physical models within Ansys Fluent are easy to implement through intuitive boundary conditions, allowing design performance that can be evaluated via many different reports and results objects.

Next week we will be looking at conjugate heat transfer, which covers analysis of conduction through a solid domain paired with convection through a fluid domain.
