Thermal management of structures is an issue that arises in many industries. Whether it’s looking at the temperature distribution in an exhaust manifold, how temperatures propagate from electrical components into a wider structure or how thermal cycling of parts may lead to fatigue failure, for example. Whether one of these specific problems or any of the many other thermal applications that arise in the engineering environment, thermal analysis of structures is a critical component in the successful design of parts.
Watch the second video in our series on thermal management, to learn how Ansys Mechanical can be used to identify, investigate and mitigate these potential issues. Allowing engineers to produce better understood products of higher quality, reduced material requirements and with longer design lives. Or, simply without needing to undergo physical testing of parts and multiple design iterations. Next week we will be looking at how Ansys Fluent can be used to study thermal effects in fluid flows.
