Learning or reviewing the fundamentals of finite element analysis (FEA), including best practice, will enable you to get the most out of your own simulation software or assess the FEA undertaken by others with confidence.

This concise, independent, software-neutral course will provide you with a solid foundation in the basic theory and application of the finite element method to structural mechanics – helping you to run and critically evaluate simulations effectively and accurately.

The training sessions combine formal presentations with a number of practical workshops to reinforce learning.

Who Should Attend?

Designers, engineers, researchers, students and managers who are currently or may in the future be involved with FEA within their role.

This course is suitable for anyone using FEA software directly, involved in specifying FEA projects or reviewing, checking and interpreting results within FEA reports.

As a fundamentals course, it is assumed that delegates do not have any previous experience. However, it can also serve as a refresher course if you have some existing FEA experience obtained from work or academic studies.

Duration

Feedback from Previous Attendees

Great all round course for someone wanting to consolidate basic university knowledge with some industry experience – A great refresher. ITM Power (Trading) Ltd

Excellant facilities & course content – Tutor was knowledgeable about subject. James Fisher Nuclear (Egremont)

Good course an appropriate approach to FEA studies. Sotech Ltd

I have done other FEA courses, but this was the only one that clearly showed FEA basic principles by someone who knew the subject not just following software tutorial, Excellent course. Adventia 3D Ltd

Tutor extremely knowledgeable, i would recommend this course as an introduction to FEA. This covers the theory behind the FEA, which is fundamental if you want to conduct expert analysis. University of Strathclyde (AFRC)

Excellent training course to get an insight into FEA principles. Would strongly recommend if you have just started with it or need a refresher. Thomas Dudley Ltd

Excellent background knowledge into FEA and the principles of simulation. Thomas Dudley Ltd

Course provided important information that myself and colleagues have been concerned about when approaching FEA procedures. Knowledge and technique learned will be immediately used in all future projects. Tata Steel Strip Products

A good refresher of university level knowledge without getting bogged down in mathematical derivations. Useful for designers who don’t do day-to-day analysis but need to understand the basic principles and application of FEA.

The content of the course was perfectly tailored to our applications and level of detail required. I like [the tutor’s] teaching style of introducing the broad topics in their basics and then going through each again in the next level of detail and then again at a higher level. Each time you feel like you know about the topic and can build on it which is very confidence inspiring. You have no choice but to absorb the information and learn it. A great technique. Red Bull Technology

Excellent course giving a good grounding to the fundamentals of FEA and its use on the industry. Precision Polymer Engineering

A very useful and interesting course – Highly recommended. Parkburn Precision Handling Systems

… was pleased with the training – it was just the right stepping stone for the career development plans we have for him this year and he was complimentary about the style and material. We’ll bear you in mind for future training provision. Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery

Excellent course pitched at the level we required……..The course was aimed at mechanical engineers who have access to software or results. It was a great insight into dangers of not understanding FEA and its results. AMEC

Very informative course taken by a knowledgeable tutor. I would thoroughly recommend this course to anyone new to FEA or looking for a refresher. Baker Perkins

The course was very informative and a great refresher on my existing knowledge, as well as adding valuable information to it. Chesterfield Special Cylinders
