Crane Expert Joins Wilde’s Technical Team

Wilde Analysis is delighted to announce the appointment of Associate Nick Fraser, a crane specialist who brings more than forty years of engineering expertise to Wilde’s technical team.

Nick Fraser began his engineering career at Rotork Controls in Bath before progressing to a range of senior roles, including Technical Director at Sparrows Crane Hire, Team Leader at BNFL Environmental Services, Berkeley, and Chief Engineer – Cranes & Lifting Equipment, at Imes Ltd Bristol.

Since 1986, Nick has been working as an independent engineering consultant, specialising in the field of cranes and lifting appliances. His assignments have required the resolution of a wide variety of mechanical handling challenges from clients involved in the Energy/Offshore Oil and Gas (13 years), Nuclear Power/Defence (12 years) and Construction/Industrial (15 years) sectors.

With over 40 years of experience, Nick is able to act as an expert witness in crane incident investigations and as an independent technical authority. His expertise includes carrying out thorough examinations, condition evaluations, life extension assessments, feasibility studies and design audits, as well as preparing specifications, technical assessments and calculations. He is also able to evaluate tenders for the procurement of cranes, capital handling plant and lifting equipment.

With his wealth of experience, Nick is a valuable addition to Wilde’s technical team and allows us to expand the breadth of consultancy projects that we can offer.
