Wilde Gives Salford University Engineering Students an Insight into Industry

December 7th, 2015

As part of its commitment to promote the engineering industry and forge closer links with universities, Wilde gave Salford students a flavour of the exciting challenges ahead, outlining the benefits of simulation and numerical modelling.

Wilde Engineers were recently invited to speak at a student event held by Salford University Engineers’ Union (SUEU). Andrew Willenbrook and Mickael Capelli gave presentations over two separate sessions, as part of SUEU’s regular events programme designed to give engineering students an insight into the industry.

The presentations covered both FEA and CFD simulation, outlining the reasons why these methods are used, the different types of analysis and how they are performed.

The event was attended by both undergraduate and postgraduate students, and attracted an enthusiastic response, with some good questions being asked and interest shown in Wilde Analysis and its graduate positions.

Since 1980, Wilde has been helping universities exploit the benefits of engineering simulation and numerical modelling both in the UK and internationally. Wilde also participates in the ‘Year in Industry’ scheme, taking on a new undergraduate annually to give them a taste of the engineering world.
