Joining Wilde Analysis following 30 Years in Simulation
May 19th, 2017
Hi, Dr Peter Roberts here: I am delighted to have recently joined Wilde Analysis to help further develop our activities within Design Simulation.
My life in finite element analysis was incubated in the Department of Civil Engineering at Swansea University through the likes of Zienkiewicz, Hinton and Owen and I first put theory into practice using ANSYS within the North West nuclear industry. This was followed by a number of years working for a Warrington based reseller for Fluent and Marc, from where it seemed a natural progression to migrate from a presales engineer into sales.
Most of my commercial experience has subsequently been gained at an international simulation software developer, with roles including regional and strategic sales, channel management and sales management. I have always covered both software and services – vital to provide the best fit for my clients’ circumstances – and have found my technical background to be invaluable to help recommend to my clients the most practical, effective and efficient solutions.
Recent customers include major aerospace companies such as Airbus, BAE Systems, Leonardo, MBDA and Rolls-Royce but in my time I’ve also gained experience within defence, automotive and power generation among other industries, including both OEMs and suppliers.
Outside of work, my time is focussed on a busy home life in sunny Wales. My wife of 32 years is a full-time GP. Our son is a small animal vet in Warrington and will be marrying the girl next door on 3rd June. Our daughter teaches Spanish in Blackpool. Outside all of that, I try to hide away to play my trumpet and guitar and for the last 46 years have punished myself with the highs and lows of life as a City fan (Manchester that is).
Joining Wilde Analysis marks the start of an exciting new chapter in my career within FEA and CFD. Wilde offers the dynamic environment in which we all thrive, so I’m looking forward to working with you all.
Peter Roberts, Business Development Manager
