ANSYS Electromagnetic Solutions
The ANSYS electromagnetic product suite, including the recent addition of Ansoft software, contains both general purpose and application specific products to address a broad array of industry applications. These solutions allow you to accurately simulate electromagnetic fields when predicting the behavior of electrical and electromechanical devices.
Overview
Two distinct application areas can be addressed:
- Electromechanical: Electric motors and generators, transformers, bus bars, relays, solenoids, power electronics, MEMS and magnet design
- High-speed and High-frequency RF/microwave Components: On-chip embedded passives, IC packages, PCB interconnects, antennas, RF/microwave components, EMI/EMC and biomedical devices
For both areas, the ANSYS electromagnetics solutions enable you to gain an understanding of:
- Device performance characteristics under applied excitations
- Visualization of the electromagnetic field in and around a device
- Joule heating effects and resultant temperatures
- Force distribution and resulting deformation
- Key design parameters: torque, force, resistance, inductance, capacitance, impedance, S parameters and radiated fields/emissions
ANSYS EMAG
ANSYS EMAG - an add-on program to ANSYS Mechanical software - addresses the analysis needs of coupled thermal-electromagnetic and magneto-mechanical systems applications such as micro-electromechanical devices (MEMS), induction heating and charged particle tracing. ANSYS EMAG capabilities are als...
HFSS (ANSYS)
HFSS is the industry’s leading simulation tool for 3-D full-wave electromagnetic field simulation. HFSS provides electric and magnetic fields, currents, S-parameters and near and far radiated field results. The product also includes the capability to map volumetric and surface losses to a thermal...
Maxwell (ANSYS)
Maxwell is a software package for low-frequency electromagnetic field simulation. Maxwell can be used to design 3-D/2-D structures, such as motors, actuators, transformers and other electromagnetic and electromechanical devices. Maxwell uses the Ansoft-pioneered automatic adaptive meshing capab...
