For plastic parts requiring high quality surface finish, weld lines are definitely one of the top challenges. Rapid heat and cool, or variotherm, molding technologies have opened up new opportunities, enabling molders to achieve best possible surface quality within the shortest possible cycle time. However, many challenges also arise from the uncertain variables of the rapid heating and cooling process, for example, when is the best timing to switch between heating and cooling, and how the layout of the cooling channels will affect product quality.
In this webinar, we’ll demonstrate Moldex3D’s 3D transient cool analysis, which is capable of predicting and investigating the temperature variations over time. This will help injection molders gain a better understanding of the effects of various process parameters on part quality. With that, injection molders can ensure a high quality surface finish and achieve cycle time reduction.
