Many of our clients recognise that they need to improve the reliability performance of their products and/or manufacturing capabilities. For example, this may be a result of unexpected failures in the field or excessive down-time for unscheduled maintenance work.
Often there is risk to the safety of operating plant, to the environment and the image and financial performance of their business.
It is not unusual for our clients to recognise that they need to improve their product/process reliability but are uncertain as to the most effective way of achieving this improvement.
Through a Gap Analysis approach, our reliability experts work in partnership with you to review your current practices, develop realistic reliability targets and create a roadmap of reliability engineering activities to achieve these targets.
The Reliability Gap Analysis typically consists of 2 phases of work:
- The first phase is a period of time working at your facilities to gather relevant data, review the background to reliability related requirements, to understand the reliability culture within the your organisation and to work with you to formulate realistic targets within specified timescales. This may take between 2 days to 2 weeks depending on the complexity of the project requirements.
- The second phase is the development of a project scope to deliver activities outlined in the roadmap which is delivered to you in the form of a report. This usually takes 1 to 3 working days to complete depending on project complexity.
Upon review of the Gap Analysis, you have the choice whether to implement the recommendations within the report and decide if you require further support from us.
In cases where you have limited internal technical resource available or require an independent facilitator or assessor, we have the capabilities to undertake the roadmap activities including the use of industry-recognised ReliaSoft reliability engineering tools as appropriate.
