Overview
TGrid offers advanced prism layer creation tools which give greater mesh flexibility, particularly in the case of complicated shapes. TGrid is also equipped with an advanced wrapping procedure that produces a high quality, size function driven connected triangular surface mesh from a large set of unconnected faceted surfaces. TGrid’s robust, automated algorithms save preprocessing time and generate high-quality meshes for CFD analysis in FLUENT.
Surface and volume meshes may be imported into TGrid from GAMBIT, ANSYS, CATIA, I-DEAS, NASTRAN, PATRAN, Pro/ENGINEER, Hypermesh, and more. Extensive tools are included in TGrid for improving imported surface mesh quality and for rapidly assembling meshes from multiple parts.
TGrid’s convenient mesh quality diagnostic tools allow for easy verification of mesh size and quality.

Key Features
TGrid performs advanced hybrid volume mesh generation using Cartesian hanging-node hexa, tetrahedra, pyramids, and prisms (wedges or hexahedra) and 2-D meshing with triangles and quadrilaterals. The main features of TGrid include:
- Surface creation and re-meshing using Delaunay Triangulation (tris)
- Tools for intersecting, repairing and improving boundary mesh
- Advanced size function based surface wrapper technology
- Post-wrapper operations like imprinting, coarsening and zone extraction
- Use of advancing boundary layer method for prisms layering
- Generation of tetrahedral and HexCore volume meshing
- Tools to manipulate face/cell zones
TGrid can import boundary meshes from Fluent’s GAMBIT preprocessor as well as numerous third party preprocessors.
