Turbomachinery CFD Consulting Services
Wilde has doctorate level experience in the design and analysis of turbomachinery, involving both numerical simulation and experimental testing of radial turbine stages to determine the influence of different stator designs on performance. If you are involved in the design of pumps, compressors, turbines or wind energy devices, we can provide both theoretical and practical knowledge.
We have staff as Members of the IMechE Fluid Machinery Group and ASME IGTI Turbomachinery Committees, and have written technical papers on flow structures and losses within vaned and vaneless stators for radial inflow turbines among other topics. We have experience in overall turbomachinery and wind energy system design, including:
- 1D design of centrifugal compressor and radial turbine stages
- 3D aerodynamic / mechanical optimisation using commercial CFD and FEA codes
- Rotordynamics analysis
- Development of component design codes
- Investigation of VAWT and HAWT performance under varying wind conditions and blade designs
